You are going to be focusing on changes ahead when you’re pregnant. The changes can happen from the moment of conception, however. This piece includes great tips about what will happen and how you can adapt.

If you want to have better sleep when you’re pregnant, you should drink less fluids because you have a smaller bladder capacity. Be sure to drink lots of water during daytime hours, but reduce your intake prior to bed. This will allow you to sleep without getting interrupted by the need to go to the bathroom.

As long as you are eating healthily, feel free to give into a craving once in awhile. You body has cravings for a reason, and your body may be lacking something that is in whatever you are wanting so bad. When you start to eat for two people, you use up a lot more of the nutrients and energy that your body has stored, so satisfy your cravings!

TIP! Talk to your doctor before you plan any traveling, while pregnant. Take all relevant medical information along, so you will be prepared in the event of an unexpected complication.

Your OB/GYN or family doctor will recommend that you take a prenatal vitamin while you’re pregnant. Take your vitamin at the same time each day, usual with a meal to prevent nausea. These will help supplement some vitamins you might not get enough of in your diet and will help the baby grow strong and healthy in the womb.

Eat small meals during the course of the day while pregnant. If your stomach is never empty, it decreases the chances of it becoming upset. Eat light, fresh foods, too. Stick with fruits and vegetables for the majority of your meals.

Study up on what premature labor feels like and understand at what point it is time to call the doctor. With luck, you will never have to actually use this information. Still, it is good to be prepared just in case. When you can avoid preterm labor, you can save your baby’s health.

TIP! If you have pets such as a cat, have someone else do the litter box changing. Cat droppings can pass on infections and diseases, so leave the changing of your cat’s litter box to someone else while you are pregnant.

Sexually Transmitted

You should have a comprehensive test for sexually transmitted infections upon becoming pregnant. STD’s can be detrimental to the health of you and your unborn baby if they are left untreated. Your doctor can easily test to see if you have a sexually transmitted disease by checking your blood, urine, or doing a pap smear. If you suffer from one of these conditions, you will have to get a C-section.

If you have any cravings during your pregnancy, try not to give in to them. You and your child both have nutritional needs. If you eat to satisfy your cravings, you may not be meeting your nutritional needs or those of your expected little one.

TIP! Moms who are post due date should consider taking a brisk walk. That will sometimes get labor started.

As stated before, pregnancy is full of questions and concerns for expecting parents. What you’ve learned here can help both you and your loved ones adapt to those changes and thrive.
